London born Phil Ware set the Irish jazz scene ablaze when he crossed the Irish Sea to live here, nearly a decade ago.
As both a band leader and sideman, his fluent and melodic piano playing has won him numerous admirers, and earned him a two-times nomination as Young Jazz Musician of the Year in his native UK.
He has playing alongside such British luminaries as Bobby Wellins, Tina May and Jim Mullen, and has illuminated the recordings and live concert performances of a myriad of Ireland's top jazz players - amongst them the brilliant young singer Cormac Kenevey.
For the past number of years the 'Phil Ware Trio', featuring one of the hottest rhythm sections in Irish jazz - bassist Dave Redmond and drummer Kevin Brady, have blazed a trail on the Dublin jazz scene.
They team up here with Cormac Kenevey, who has won widespread acclaim as Ireland's leading jazz vocalist of recent years. Their Bray concert comes hard on the heels of the launch of Cormac Kenevey's eagerly awaited second album, at the end of April. |
