For 30 years the Newpark Music Centre in Dublin has been nurturing and developing new young talent in Irish jazz.

The ‘Newpark Afro-Cuban Jazz Orchestra’ is just the lates initiative to emerge from the Blackrock centre.

A big band collective of well over a dozen young players brought together under the tutulage of drummer and band leader Conor Guilfoyle, the ensemble bring their energies and craft to the dynamic music of ‘Latin jazz’, a heady musical mix which combines improvisation with the rhythms of Cuba and Africa.

The Afro Cuban Jazz Orchestra includes in its ranks the cream of the crop from a new generation of talent coming through in jazz today.

This show is part of Bray Jazz Festivals continuing series of free to the public afternoon concerts, and all are welcome to come along and enjoy this rare outing by an exceptionally talented new ensemble.
