Ireland’s finest saxophonist is in good company with 'Dublin Standard Time', his tight new ensemble featuring some of Dublin's finest players of the current generation.
Playing a repertoire of the greatest of songs that have reverberated through jazz and popular music over the last century, Dublin Standard Time provides its band leader with yet another opportunity to display his invigorating playing technique.
Featuring Myles Drennan on Fender Rhodes, Michael Coady on bass, and drummer Sean Carpio, Dublin Standard Time take all the sap offered by each selection of standards before moving on to new pastures.
Compositions up for some forensic examination in this return engagement include Shorter’s Yes and No, Henderson’s Inner Urge and Ellington’s All Too Soon, and other standard tunes that will be the catalyst for invigorating blowing, deep grooving and the pursuit of a real band signature. |
